Casey Mallon | Owner/Operator

Casey Mallon started Mallon Excavating by himself over 24 years ago, with a single backhoe and a vision. He believes everything should be done as “perfect-as-possible”, and business should be done with a handshake. He has never advertised, and gotten all of jobs by reputation and word of mouth. Growing up, he was always a ‘dirty-kid’, and he found a way to “keep playing in the dirt”! On the rare occasion that he isn’t working, you can find Casey playing with machines at home, in a deer stand, watching the hawkeyes, or drinking a pepsi.

Stacie Mallon | Manager/Operator

Stacie Mallon wears many hats at Mallon Excavating. From managing all office and accounting duties, to running grade stick and skid loaders, she knows a lot about how to co-run an excavating business. Did we mention she does all of this while planning and studying to be a full-time Nurse Practitioner? When she isn’t working or studying, “Mama Stace” loves photography, riding on the bike trails, and listening to Prince with her “grand-dogs”.

Brooke Mallon | Marketing/Operator

Brooke Mallon is the daughter of Casey and Stacie, and recently joined Mallon Excavating after getting her bachelors in Architecture at Iowa State University. When she isn’t running heavy equipment, Brooke watches over all media, design, and marketing-related items, In her spare time, you can find her watching ‘trash’ tv with her dog, walking the isles of Hobby Lobby, laughing with friends, or singing “Man in a Box” at karaoke night (oof!),

Maggi Mallon Operator/Maintenance

Maggi Mallon is the youngest daughter of Stacie and Casey. Her day-to-day activities hold a wide array of tasks; from changing the oil in the backhoe, to grading shed pads, she does it all! Being an operator and ALSO a nurse, she lives in the perfect middle between her mom and dad. When she isn’t working as a nurse or an operator, Maggi can be seen tending to her many plants and gardens, practicing metal riffs on her guitar, or hunting with her dog.

Zeppelin | Office Doorbell

Zeppelin is the office door-bell. No one will enter or leave without a greeting from Zeppy. He enjoys late mornings, stealing shoes, and grandma’s treats.

Salem | Office Vacuum

Salem is a good-boy who specializes in picking up his ball, toy chicken, and any and all food that drops on the floor. Our floors have never been cleaner! When he isn’t working hard, he enjoys running for miles and miles, hunting with his mom, and going for a swim in the pond.
